AFDSNY 71st ANNUAL MEETING Thursday, May 1, 2014 to Sunday, May 4, 2014
Each year the Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York hosts the Annual Meeting and Education Conference in the spring and an Education Conference and Vendor Expo in the fall.
This year the Annual meeting and Education Conference will be held on May 1 - 4, 2014, at the Doubletree in East Syracuse. We have planned a full schedule of meetings, workshops and social activities. We hope your stay will be educational as well as enjoyable.
The Association is dedicated to the education of Fire Officials throughout New York State. The selection of workshops is based on recent results of publicized financial and managerial issues facing our own Fire Districts, and subjects that present ongoing problems to Fire Districts. We endeavor to schedule workshops that will be of interest to Fire District officials from Fire Districts of all sizes.
Following is a preliminary schedule of events for the event. We will update this with additional information on the workshop topics and speakers as the information becomes available. Please take note of pre-registration requirements and send in your registrations as instructed. Paper copies of all the forms have been mailed to each Fire District or click on the link for downloadable forms.

Notice to Members
CALL TO ACTION - NYS BUDGET REQUEST
Please take a few minutes to send letters to the Assembly and Senate indicating support for an appropriation in the NYS Budget to provide Codes of New York State to certified Code Enforcement Officials and Code Compliance Technicians in NYS. Unless we get this accomplished the State will enact the code and each municipality will have to expend hundreds of dollars to purchase a complete set of code books - another unfunded mandate.
The directory/journal form that was sent in the 2014 dues notice was sent in error and a replacement form will be in the mail shortly.
Any questions, contact Secretary/Treasurer Joe DeStefano.
