    Anyone who still wants to register for the Annual Meeting and Conference or any of Thursday’s per-conference education classes, should contact the Secretary/Treasurer Joe DeStefano by phone or e-mail.

    Reservations are still being accepted for the Thursday night “Syracuse Chiefs night out at the ballpark”, Saturday’s “Turning Stone Casino Night” event and Friday’s guest program to the “MacKenzie Childs Factory”. Pre-registration is required to attend these events.

    It is with deepest regret to announce the passing of AFDSNY Past President and Region 6 Director George J. Paul. George a long time active leader in local and state-wide fire district organizations, died Thursday April 3rd in his West Seneca home after a short illness. He was 87. Born in Buffalo, he attended Sloan High School and was drafted into the U.S. Army just weeks after graduation, serving as a technical sergeant and medical corpsman in Europe.

    The Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York is delighted to announce the winners of the Edward "Ned" Carter 2014 Scholarship awards. These scholarships are name in honor of Ned Carter and all deceased past presidents of the State Association. In keeping with Ned’s life of community service and dedication to helping others, these awards are presented to graduating students who will be pursuing a post-secondary career in the community service.
